Krishi Vigyan Kendra,
Nandurbar
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Nandurbar is a place for local agricultural research and a hub for farmers to come together and learn about local climate patterns, and get trained to use various advanced tools and methods to enhance their farming. As sustainability is always at the center of all our projects, this one is a demonstration in sustainable architecture to inspire farmers to learn from the same.

The climate response aspects of this construction lie within the rat trap bonds and the sloping roofs as Nandurbar has equal amounts of heat and rainfall respectively. The central courtyards and verandahs aid ventilation but also lend the buildings a campus-like atmosphere which promotes socialising. The Kendra also has an amphitheatre, many classrooms, a hostel and dining facility for the farmers, and an open equipment display area.
The Kendra has been designed in such a way that the villagers feel comfortable within the space. That they don’t feel bogged down and pressurized to present themselves in any other way. It suits their psychology and fosters an environment for learning and creativity in the village.
