Sant House Interior,
Pune

The Sant House was designed after combining two existing flats (a 2BHK and a 3BHK). The column grid dividing the two flats was bulky but couldn’t be removed as it was integral to the structure. Hence, opening up the rest of the plan was the only way to move forward. Opening up the plan meant opening up the terraces to form extended living areas. The house has 4 terraces and each of them has its unique character and style.

The existing structure had many odd corners which were also transformed into functional living spaces such as reading nooks or bharatiya baithaks. Since the clients wanted to make their space a home for their plants as well, most of the terraces and living areas are enlivened by the planters.

The exposed brick walls and the wooden interior choices are what give this house a feeling of warmth and comfort. The walls have a minimal colour palette leaving the upholstery and the tapestry to stand out. The client can also customize these two aspects according to the themes that they wish to.
